There is an old saying that goes like this: Actions   speak   louder   than   words. Applying  that  concept  to  the  death  and resurrection of Jesus Christ makes a lot of  sense.  You  see,  Jesus  claimed  many times  that  He  is  God  and  in  control  of everyone’s   eternal   destiny   including whether we end up in Heaven or in Hell. Those  were  His  words.  That’s  what  He  spent  His  life  teaching.  Then  a  complication  arose. Christ  walked  right  into  His  own  death  by  crucifixion.  Whoa!  If  He  was  God,  how  did  that happen?  Well,  it  sounds  strange,  but  He  actually  planned  it  that  way!  No,  it  wasn’t  a  suicide. Rather, it was a calculated sacrifice. Jesus chose to sacrifice His life to pay the penalty for our sin  so  that  we  would  all  have  the  opportunity  to  get  right  with  God  relationally.  Plus,  Christ chose to die as the backdrop to His resurrection to powerfully prove that He really is God with complete  authority  over  life  and  death.  The  truth  is,  whether  we’ve  realized  it  or  not,  there’s nothing that matters more to your life and mine than Christ defeating death by being raised to life. For Easter 2016, let’s spend a few moments letting the Bible tell us what we need to know about how we too can be raised to life ... by Jesus.
